U.S. Military fighter jets strike Eastern Syria.

U.S. President Biden ordered fighter jet strikes in eastern Syria Thursday, targetting facilities used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The U.S. Department of Defense said the strikes were in retaliation for attacks on U.S. forces.

“These narrowly tailored strikes in self-defense were intended solely to protect and defend U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria,” U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin said in the statement issued on Thursday.
